Project Overview

Welcome to the Agawam High School Construction Project page. Here we hope you will find answers and information regarding the project background, process, and next steps.

The Agawam High School Building Committee typically meets the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of every month; meetings are subject to change, please check the Town of Agawam calendar at https://www.agawam.ma.us/agendacenter and the schedule page on this site for more meetings.

After the successful YES vote to the new high school, the project moved through Module 5 of the MSBA process by entering into a Project Funding Agreement with the MSBA. The project has now moved on into Design Development, which will be completed in December 2024.



At the April 22 SBC meeting the design team unveiled the newly updated rendering for the project. The renderings are a great way to see how the project is taking shape.The details for finishes, materials etc. are in the process of being determined and will continue to evolve now that the project is in Design Development. This phase is expected to be completed in December 2024. After that, construction drawings, MSBA approvals and final pricing will take place, followed by construction starting Spring 2026. The community wing will be open in 2027 and the academic wing in Fall 2028.

PROJECT UPDATES

Detailed Design - Module 6

The High School project is now in Design Development, followed by Construction Documentation, and Bidding. The District and its team continue to advance the project and the MSBA continues to monitor the project to ensure it remains on track and meets the expectation of both the District and the MSBA as defined in the Project Funding Agreement. The project team, leadership group and design team will now generate construction documents which are reviewed at each stage by the MSBA as prescribed in their 9 Module process.
