Construction Phase
During June, the project continued to advance from major structure and enclosure work into heavier interior build-out and MEP rough-in activities within the Community Wing. Interior framing, drywall installation, in-wall blocking, door frame installation, ceiling framing, taping, and sheathing were ongoing throughout the month. This work was most active on the first and second floors, gym areas, workshop areas, and auditorium-related spaces, with crews also working on exterior column wraps, gym overhangs, and roof-edge blocking.
MEP rough-in remained a major focus throughout June. HVAC crews continued ductwork and piping rough-in, including work in mechanical rooms, first-floor piping, second-floor air terminal units, and ductwork through shafts. Plumbing crews continued overhead domestic water piping, water service-related work, roof drains, floor sinks/troughs, and shop air compressor piping toward the end of the month. Fire protection crews installed sprinkler piping in the gyms, first floor, second floor, and mechanical room areas. Electrical crews continued rough-in throughout the building, including fire alarm, telecom, low-voltage systems, switchyard/switchgear work, electric room work, main feeder pulls, permanent power-related pulls, floor box conduit in the auditorium, and controls/BMS wiring.
Concrete and site-related work also progressed in June. Capasso continued slab-on-grade preparation and concrete placement in the auditorium, including the stage, sloped floor areas, steps, equipment pads in the mechanical room, and loading dock ramp walls. T&M performed grading at the auditorium, loading dock, sidewalks, tennis court sidewalk areas, duct bank backfill, utility excavation, permanent water coordination, loading dock backfill, and late-month sewer work/exploratory work across the existing school parking lot.
The exterior envelope also moved forward. Chandler worked on exterior wall insulation, clips, rails, girts, and layout at the auditorium, gym, clerestory, east elevation, roof elevations, and other Community Wing areas. Armani performed waterproofing and air/vapor barrier work at the gym elevations, window blocking, curtain wall blocking, exterior columns, and behind the precast band. Greenwood continued roof detailing, smoke hatch delivery, roof insulation, vapor barrier, curb work around the clerestory, and gym sloped roof work. Lizotte began curtain wall frame installation and sealant work later in the month at the west and east elevations.
Masonry and miscellaneous metals also remained active. Fernandes continued brick installation, precast band installation, clip welding, and masonry work at the gym elevations and south elevation. Avid/United Steel performed bent plate work at gym roof rakes, stair detailing, north stair installation, catwalk detailing, and related miscellaneous metals work. Additional support activities included testing by Allied, layout and survey by Heritage, food service walk-in cooler/freezer installation, limited painting in network/electrical rooms, and elevator shaft scaffold/platform work.
